RLF provides a platform for leaders, academics and other stakeholders to discuss how to overcome the challenges in the nation-building processes in Africa, especially in Nigeria.  It contributes to the discourse mostly through publications, seminars, workshops, conferences, training programmes and consultancies.

RLF believes that while diversity is not an obstacle to national integration, creating a sense of community and fellowship among the diverse nationalities that make up the relatively new states in Africa will require a deliberate use of state instruments.

RLF also believes proper national integration efforts  will  require a conscious prioritization of reconciliation, trust and peace-building  in the country’s political and development agenda and a recognition that when the nation-building is in crisis, every solution thrown at the country’s problems will quickly become part of the problem.
